Schedule Routine Maintenance On A Rotating Basis

To ensure you always have enough vehicles to go around for employee use, it is best to schedule mobile fleet maintenance with an auto repair shop for each vehicle at a different times of the year. If you have too many vehicles being serviced at one time, you risk not being able to get your employees to the jobs they need to tend to, as quickly. Taking a vehicle for routine maintenance each week or month, depending on the number you use, will make it more likely you will be down the minimum number of vehicles you need available at any given time. If a vehicle needs to stay for extensive repair, it would still get back to the business before the next vehicle is scheduled for service.

Carpool When There Is More Than One Job In An Area

To reduce the amount of wear your vehicles endure, consider doubling up on jobs in one area so one employee can drop off another at the job and pick them up when their own is completed. Carpooling will reduce the number of miles vehicles rack up and will minimize costs for gas and maintenance as well. Make sure employees have charged cell phones so they can get a hold of each other when they finish their jobs to arrange for meeting to head back to the business when they are both done with their work.

Purchase A Few Additional Vehicles For Emergencies

It is a great idea to have a few vehicles that remain at the business in case of an emergency. These vehicles are not to be driven unless another vehicle in the fleet breaks down on the road or remains in an auto repair shop longer than expected. This will ensure there is always a vehicle on-hand to handle any work thrown your way, helping to keep customers happy and coming back for subsequent service in the future.
